The Spring Harbor neighborhood of Madison is located on the southwestern corner of Lake Mendota. Here you can find a variety of schools, commercial districts, and all the public amenities you’ll need. Looking out across the water you’ll see the University of Wisconsin campus. Coming to life in the 1950’s, about half of the homes here today were built during that decade, adding a unique and dated look, full of history. Spring Harbor Park is a series of parks located just down the road from The Brennan. These parks include play equipment, a basketball court, and provides a small beach and boat launch. Learn more here.
Marshall Park is another park right down the road from The Brennan. The park often attracts people who bike, fish, swim, play volleyball, and those who want to relax and look out over Lake Mendota. Since 2017, Marshall Park has changed the way you experience Lake Mendota through boat rentals. They offer a wide range of rentals, from 12 person pontoons to kayaks. If you’re looking to go downtown and need a mode of transportation, route 70, 71, 72, and 78 of the metro transit is there for you, stopping just outside The Brennan! Construction for bus rapid transit has broke ground in the Madison area and targeted to finish in the fall of 2024, having a stop just outside The Brennan. Find out more about the rapid transit here.
The Hill Farms State Office Building is located just down the road from The Brennan. Here you can find various departments of the state of Wisconsin. The nine-story building houses the Wisconsin DOT, the Public Service Commission, the Department of Employee Trust Funds, the Department of Administration Division of Hearings & Appeals, Wisconsin Higher Educational Aids Board, the Department of Financial Institutions, and the Department of Safety & Professional Services.
